People in India, specially related with outsourcing business are worried after the comments made by US President, Obama. He has warned American companies about outsourcing and threatened them with more taxes on their profit. His thinking may be noble for the people of American but if American companies follow his policies then it would hurt US companies most. They shifted their operation in India to get cheaper and skilled labor. They saved millions of dollars with that. But they take back these operations to America they will hit hard.
America was the country who strongly back globalization in pressure of American companies. They made policies to benefit American companies the most. They backed globalization as they were the most beneficiaries in that scenario but when it comes to recession and people of that country start getting pink slips they started crying fowl. They must follow their own policies other wise they will lose their reputation of global leader soon.
It will not be easy for American companies to shut their operations in India or any other outsourcing country, as it will cost them a lot. Most of the US companies have their more than 50% business out of the country and they won’t like to lose their business from their. I also believe that American companies or corporate giants have their say and their interference in policy making and they won’t allow the administrator to make any policy which hurt their own profit.
I hope Obama administration will take care the benefits of their own people and companies, also about their old policies and their reputation.
